Set up in Created in 2010 by TREC Renewable Energy Co-operative., Solar Share is a non-profit co-operative commissioned to with a mission to develop community-based solar electricity generation in Ontario by engaging residents and investors in projects which that offer tangible financial, social and environmental returns. Solar Share bonds are backed by 20-year government agreements under Ontario’s Feed-in Tariff Program and are secured by mortgages on title.
